Common questions about pest management plans

Are you a pest control contractor?

No. We assess, plan and document. We do not apply rodenticides ourselves, we set up the management plan and refer ongoing service to a BPCA member contractor.

Why do I need a pest management plan?

Food premises, kitchens and holiday lets need to demonstrate proactive control to Environmental Health and to insurers. A written plan with monitoring records is the evidence.

What does the plan include?

A site risk assessment, prevention and proofing recommendations, a bait station map, and a monitoring log template.

Will this satisfy our EHO?

A documented preventative plan with monitoring is exactly what an EHO looks for in food and hospitality settings, alongside contractor records.

Need more than just this?

If you've got two or more on your list, an annual or retained package usually works out cheaper.
