Food Safety Check

From £275. Written record. Fixed price.

What it is

We carry out a food hygiene inspection against the FSA Safer Food Better Business framework. We check temperature records, hygiene practices, allergen management, and HACCP documentation. We identify gaps.

Producing or rewriting HACCP plans is outside our scope - a food safety specialist should do that. We tell you whether one is needed and what the gap looks like.

What we check

  • HACCP documentation - whether it exists, whether it reflects the current menu
  • Allergen management records and how they are displayed
  • Temperature records (fridge, freezer, cook, hold)
  • Hygiene practices on the walk-round
  • Cleaning schedule
  • Supplier and traceability records

What you get

  • Written record of what was checked and what was found
  • Clear list of the gaps, with priorities
  • Temperature log template ready to use if you do not already have one

Who needs this

Any business preparing or serving food. Required under Food Hygiene Regulations 2006 and Natasha's Law 2021.

Common questions about food safety audits

Will a food safety audit improve my Food Hygiene Rating?

It cannot directly raise your FHRS score, only your local authority Environmental Health Officer can do that, but it identifies what an EHO would flag and gives you a written action plan before your next inspection.

Do you write our HACCP plan?

We review your existing HACCP plan against your current menu and operations and tell you what is missing. Drafting a full HACCP plan from scratch is outside the scope of this audit.

What is checked against?

The Food Standards Agency Safer Food Better Business framework, the Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013, and Natasha's Law allergen requirements.

Will the visit disrupt service?

No. We have worked in commercial kitchens and structure the visit around your service so you do not lose covers.

Need more than just this?

If you've got two or more on your list, an annual or retained package usually works out cheaper.
